Celebrity Publicist Toni Embry To Serve As Unit Publicist On Whitney Houston Film 'Sparkle'

Celebrity Entertainment Publicist, Toni Embry, accepted offer and signed to head up publicity as unit publicist for Whitney Houston's “come-back” Film 'Sparkle'. This makes an impressive 30 films to-date that Mr. Embry has worked on.

PRLog (Press Release) – Oct 10, 2011 – Glacé Entertainment Public Relations™ announced today that its Chief Celebrity Entertainment Publicist, Toni Embry, signed on the dotted line to head up the publicity department for the film 'Sparkle' ( 'Sparkle' Official IMDB Page – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1876451/ )

Toni was first offered the crew position 2 months ago when the project was green-lit, but was unable to accept due uncertain filming schedules. A finalized shooting script and schedule yielded the opportunity for Toni to participate and he accepted without equivocation.

The film (produced and distributed by Sony Pictures) is a remake of a 1976 film (by the same name) that starred Philip Michael Thomas, Irene Cara and Lonette McKee and was directed by Sam O'Steen. The current film centers around three sisters forming a successful singing group and dealing with the fallout of fame, drugs, and the music industry. Both films have been rumored to be loosely based on the musical group, 'The Supremes'.

The star-studded cast of 'Sparkle' includes Whitney Houston and is already being labeled her “come-back” film. Not only acting in the film, Ms. Houston will have executive producer credits on the film according to Debra Martin Chase, producer of Sparkle. She stated Houston deserves the title considering she's been there from the beginning in 2001 when Houston obtained Sparkle production rights. RnB singer Aaliyah's death in a 2001 plane crash derailed production which would have began in 2002.

This film marks the 30th film/T.V. production that Toni Embry as served as a unit or set publicist on. He was elated to sign and be part of this production.

The film is wrapping up the pre-production stage and moving swiftly into principal photography to keep with its projected late fall release date in 2012. The film is filming on location in Detroit, MI.

The cast of the upcoming Sparkle movie has been chillin' around the Motor City where they are currently filming.  And yesterday, they all hit up the Detroit Lions NFL game.  Pics of Whitney Houston, Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter, and more kickin' it inside…

Fun times for the Sparkle cast!  The ladies (plus Omari Hardwick) chilled in a suite at Lions stadium yesterday to take in the Sunday game.

Whitney Houston`s Name im Film “Sparkle” wurde von Effie zu Emma umbenannt.

Bin schon sehr gespannt auf mehr tolle Whitney Bilder :)

Ist hat ihr Lachen wieder gefunden.

Ihre Stimme klingt wieder besser und sie soll wohl bis jetzt am Film Set nicht mehr geraucht haben.

Jetzt fehlt nur noch der Film Erfolg für “Sparkle” und ein neuer Mann für Whitney und schließlich die neue Kariere ihrer Tochter was sie sich ja selbst auch wünscht.

Whitney is all set to return to the big screen in Sparkle, a remake of the 1976 film of the same name. She will star alongside a brilliant cast, including Jordin Sparks, Derek Luke, Mike Epps, and more.

Whitney Houston has joined the cast of SPARKLE which began principal photography this week in Detroit, Michigan. SPARKLE is a remake of the 1976 film and tells the story of the title character Sparkle (Jordin Sparks), the youngest of three sisters and a music prodigy who struggles to become a star while facing issues that are tearing her family apart.
